Canon will release the PowerShot SX1 IS in the US in April. The camera sports 1080p Full HD movie mode and a built-in HDMI connector. This 10 megapixels camera has 20x wide-angle optical zoom, a 2.8-inch LCD screen. The Canon PowerShot SX1 IS will be released in April for around $600.
The Sony T900 and T90 pocket cameras come loaded with a 12MP sensor and high-definition video recording. The T900 measures at only 15.1mm thick and adopts a 3.5-inch LCD screen and a Carl Zeiss 4x zoom lens/optical stabilizer. These pocket digicam are able to record movies at a 720p resolution. Meanwhile, the Sony T90 comes equipped with only a 3-inch touchscreen. Both cameras should be available in April with the T900 coming in at $379 and the T90 at $299.
Canon revealed two SD series models, the PowerShot SD780 IS and SD1200 IS.
The PowerShot SD780 IS is a fashionanle ELPH camera which has a ultra slim, modern look and will be available in Black, Red, Silver and Gold. SD780 IS is a 12.1 Megapixle camera with 3x optical zoom. It can record 1280×720p video clips and has integrated HDMI connector. The SD1200 IS is an entry-level Digital ELPH camera that will come in six bright colors, including dark gray, blue, pink, green, light gray and orange. It has 10 Megapixel sensor and 3x optical zoom.
Both cameras feature Smart Auto and Face Detection. They will be released in Mid-March 2009. The PowerShot SD780 IS has a retail price of $329.99 while the PowerShot SD1200 IS costs $229.99.
Sanyo presents its new Xacti camcorder TH1. Featuring a compact design and record in HD (720p), this camcorder records onto SD and has a 30x optical zoom.
