First Digital Camera?

If you are thinking of buying your first digital camera this Christmas then there are a few things you should take in to consideration. The first thing you want to think about is where you will be using it and what for.

If you are thinking of taking up photography then you should think about getting a high-end camera with a decent megapixel rating to get the best possible results. If you are getting the camera simply to capture special moments in your life then a simple point and shoot will most probably suit you.

There are many cameras for many different situations and finding the one that will best suit you can save you a lot of money. High-end cameras can cost in excess of £500, whereas you can pick up a point and shoot camera for around £100 in most electronic shops.

With most film based cameras becoming a thing of the past, now is an excellent time to switch to digital. Prints are becoming cheaper and so are the cameras themselves.

If you are worried about not being able to work the camera then there are cameras out there especially for this purpose. They have the minimal amount of buttons and have been made as simple as possible so that even a child can use them.

Also, many digital cameras are now being made water and shock proof for the more adventurous person. These cameras are great for capturing those moments when you are out and about without having the fear of dropping it and damaging it.
